The transformer features an easy-to-remove enclosure cover and knockouts on three sides with clips for line voltage wiring. The secondary wiring for class 2 transformers does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques, allowing for the use of non-metallic sheathed cable in walls and ceilings.
This transformer has a low minimum load requirement of 1W, making it suitable for use with LED products. It can be dimmed using an electronic low-voltage dimmer, and it includes soft start, short and overload circuit protection features.
The transformer is designed for use with WAC Lighting's low-voltage under-cabinet and recessed lighting systems. Transformers with the -s suffix include a lead wire for line and straight-edge under-cabinet systems, while those with the -t suffix include a lead wire for invisible 24V tape light systems.
Intrinsically safe, class 2 transformers permit no greater than a 5-amp current to be drawn, ensuring the safety of the system. The input voltage is 120V AC, and the output voltage is 24V AC, with loads varying based on the transformer's wattage (60W, 100W, 150W, or 300W).
The smooth and continuous dimming capabilities of this transformer are achieved with an electronic low-voltage dimmer, which should always be installed on the primary side of the transformer. The transformer is class 2, UL and CUL listed for damp locations, meeting the necessary safety standards.
