This class 2, UL & cul listed enclosed electronic transformer is the perfect solution for wiring multiple low voltage fixtures. Rated for 120V input and 24V output, it delivers up to 100 watts of power. As a class 2 transformer, it is intrinsically safer, as it is compartmentalized to allow no greater than 5 amps of current to be drawn on each compartment.
The enclosure cover is easy to remove, and the transformer features knockouts on three sides with clips for line voltage wiring. Importantly, the secondary wiring for class 2 transformers does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques, allowing the use of non-metallic sheathed cable in walls and ceilings.
A key feature of this transformer is its low minimum load requirement of 1 watt, enabling the use of LED products. It can be dimmed using an electronic low voltage dimmer, and incorporates soft start, short and overload circuit protection features.
This transformer is designed for use with WAC Lighting's low voltage under cabinet and recessed lighting systems. Transformers ending with -s include a lead wire for line and straight edge under cabinet systems, while those ending with -t include a lead wire for invisible 24V tape light systems.
The input voltage is 120V AC, and the output voltage is 24V AC. The load capacity varies based on the transformer model, with options ranging from 60 watts to 300 watts. Smooth and continuous dimming is achievable with an electronic low voltage dimmer, which should always be installed on the primary side of the transformer.
Adhering to class 2 standards, this transformer is UL & CUL listed for damp locations, ensuring safe and reliable performance. It is an UR (UL ready) component, designed for use in all initial installations to ensure safe and primary side connections in a wiring compartment.
