This class 2, UL & CUL listed enclosed electronic transformer is the perfect solution for wiring multiple low voltage fixtures. It is a remote enclosed electronic transformer designed for use with invisible tape light, with a 120V input and 24V output, and a maximum power rating of 100 watts. Class 2 transformers are intrinsically safer transformers because they are compartmentalized to allow no greater than 5 amps of current to be drawn on each compartment.
The transformer's enclosure cover is easy to remove, and it has knockouts on three sides with clips for line voltage wiring. The secondary wiring for class 2 transformers does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques, as non-metallic sheathed cable may be used for secondary wiring in walls and ceilings. This transformer has a low minimum load requirement of 1W to allow the use of LED products and may be dimmed using an electronic low voltage dimmer.
The transformer features soft start, short and overload circuit protection. It is designed for use with WAC Lighting's low voltage under cabinet and recessed lighting systems. Transformers that end with -s include a lead wire for line and straight edge under cabinet systems, and those that end with -t include a lead wire for invisible 24V tape light systems.
The input voltage is 120V AC, and the output voltage is 24V AC. The load capacity varies based on the transformer model, with options of 60W, 100W, 150W, and 300W. The dimming is smooth and continuous with an electronic low voltage dimmer, which should always be installed on the primary side of the transformer.
The transformer is class 2 and UL & CUL listed for damp locations. It has a 6' lead wire with a female connector included, and a maximum load capacity of 96W at 24V, with a minimum load requirement of 1W for consistent operation. The maximum run for a 100W transformer is 25'.
